St Abban’s AC Fit4life Summer League round 6 Ballylinan 19.07.2017

We had 6 runners take part in this 4k on Wednesday last.  Paul Costigan 15:24, Joe Walsh 15:26, Niall Collins 15.55, Ciaran Dickenson 17:12, Anna Duggan 17:16 and Amy Walsh 17:45.  Well done lads and ladies. Stage 7 of this series will be in Graiguecullen on Wednesday the 2nd of August.

Laura Gates Fundraiser Fun Rn 2k, 5k and 8K 25.07.2017

People came out in their hundreds to support this community get together.  This run was not about time but a community showing their support for Laura Gates and her Family.  There were runners, joggers, walkers and children out to show their support.  We had 3 juveniles doing the 2k Aoife, Emma Jane and Caoimhe Cuddy.  Maria Cuddy completed the 5k and Ursula O’Malley, Niamh Kavanagh, Clare Dunne and Martina Gardiner completed the 8k.  A great community spirit and well done to all involved in organising this event.

Laois Summer League 18.07.2017

Again a very successful evening of athletics and well done to all involved in organising the event and a very big well done to all juveniles who took part.  We had plenty of medal winners on the evening with, Jack Downey coming 3rd in Boys 50m and 2nd in Long jump, Saffron Adams 2nd in girls 50m, Christina Conroy 3rd in girls long jump, Daniel Downey 1st Boys 200m, Harrison Marshall 1st in Boys Throwball and Daniel Downey 3rd.  Girls 60m we had Maeve McGrath in 3rd.  Leah Smullen and Tara Ring 1st and 2nd in the long jump. In the boy’s long jump Oliver McCauley was 2nd . Boys 80m 1st place went to William Conroy and William also won the boys long jump in his category.
